Reverse Macro

I do not own a true macro lens, so today, I thought I would try some reverse macro!  I haven’t done this in a long time, but it was a ton of fun.  I used my 50mm lens mounted backwards on my camera using a reverse macro ring.  I think it got the job done, but I want to try it again using different settings.

A Caribbean Vacation

My husband and I took a week long cruise through the Eastern Caribbean a couple of weeks ago.  About 500 pictures later, I am just getting around to blogging about it!  We had a great time and got some much needed, kid free R & R.

We flew all night from California and to Miami

It was cloudy and a little bit chilly in Miami, but we were excited to start our adventure

The ship was beautiful

And we had a surprise in our room from some friends back home

Our first port was Nassau, Bahamas

The police stood in the middle of the intersections to help direct traffic, despite the traffic lights

And we had to try some local conch fritters and beer:)

Our next adventure was a day in St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands.  It was so beautiful, but very crowded.  There were jewelry stores everywhere and people were shopping like crazy!  There were 5 cruise ships in that day!

Next up was San Juan, Puerto Rico.  This was probably our favorite stop on the trip.  Puerto Rico is amazing and we plan on going back there some day because we didn’t have enough time to do everything we wanted to do.  The day started off rainy, but it ended up beautiful.

We started off our day with a trip to the El Yunque Rainforest.  We even got caught in a downpour while we were there!

Next up was Old San Juan

And leaving San Juan

Our last port was Grand Turk of Turks and Caicos  They had some beautiful beaches.

We spent the last day of our trip at sea

We arrived back in Miami pretty early in the morning.  This was right before sunrise
